With the YOGI TEA® beeswax wrap, your food will remain fresh without any plastic… and will also be beautifully wrapped

When it comes to the topic of “everyday waste”, most of us immediately think of plastic packaging, which often seems unavoidable when buying food, cosmetics or cleaning products. But we also generate quite a bit of waste at home, in the form of cling film, tin foil and paper bags to hold our snacks when we’re out and about. But here’s the good news: this can be easily avoided!

The handy alternative for your home

You have probably heard of beeswax wraps before. They are a great alternative made of natural materials such as beeswax, jojoba oil and resin provided to us by nature.

A beeswax wrap is great for keeping perishable foods such as fruit, vegetables and bread fresh. It can also be used to quickly and conveniently cover bowls and glasses. However, a beeswax wrap is not only a useful addition to your kitchen; it can also be used creatively when on the go – your packed lunch and other snacks can be safely and prettily wrapped up in the beeswax wrap. An especially useful feature: the wraps are highly flexible and also self-adhesive, thanks to the warmth of your hands.

YOGI TEA® now offers a handy beeswax wrap with a beautiful design. Our beeswax wrap is a limited edition and available in selected organic food stores. Buy your four favourite varieties of YOGI TEA® and receive a beeswax wrap as a free thank-you gift!

A little care for a long service-life

With a little care, your beeswax wrap can be re-used for up to a year. The rule here is:  less is more. Simply wash it in cold water after use and then leave it to air-dry. The wrap is best kept in a cool, dry place. You should protect your beeswax wrap from heat, i.e. avoid it coming into contact with hot water, sunlight, radiators, the microwave or dishwasher.

Greater freshness and longer-lasting joy

The natural materials of the beeswax wrap mean that it is anti-bacterial. Its semi-permeable membrane also ensures the optimal freshness of food items. This membrane functions similarly to the skin of a fruit protecting its insides. Water cannot penetrate it, but air can, as our food also likes to breathe. This means that it stays fresh for even longer than when wrapped in traditional cling film.

A small change with a big impact!

Avoiding the generation of waste in everyday life is therefore not that difficult with useful aids like the beeswax wrap. And the fact that we must all make a change is obvious, as every year millions of tons of discarded plastic end up littering the natural world, something which is having a devastating impact on marine life in particular. By keeping your food fresh without the use of plastic, you are therefore benefiting not just yourselves but also the environment and wildlife.
