Do Good: new partnerships with our grower communities

03. August 2017

We are excited to share news about Do Good program. Just recently, we started three new partnerships with grower communities. We know these communities for quite a while as they are suppliers of some of our key tea ingredients. Now we are honored to strengthen these relationships by working with them and “Do Good” in their communities.

Santa Teresa School Complex: Honduras

The first partnership is with Pure Ground Ingredients (PGI), the Jerazano family and the villagers of Santa Teresa. Santa Teresa is a community of over 1,200 farmers and families, from where we source much of the Cardamom used in our teas. Probably you already know Santa Teresa as we told you some months ago about building a bridge to ease transportation.

This summer, we continued our partnership and with united teamwork we started to rebuild and expand their local school complex. Latest news is, that excavation work has been done, foundation footings were poured, and now walls are going up.

Supporting this project, the community will be able to have three additional grade levels and 100 additional students. In the end, it will help to improve the overall future of the village and community.

Jalinga Black Tea Garden Hospital: Assam

We at YOGI TEA® source several ingredients from the Assam region of northeast India. The Jalinga Tea Garden Community is the home of more than 2.000 farmers and families. Unfortunately they have only limited access to immediate health care.

To improve this situation we support a partnership with the community to renovate and upgrade their hospital facility, which will include a new patient ward.

Update January 2018: We are proud to report on the progress of this project. Only six months after we began our partnership with the Jalinga Tea Garden Community, the renovation of the new patient ward was successfully completed, significantly improving the quality of life and health care conditions of our resident business partners.

Cal Retor Project: Spain

YOGI TEA® is partnering with Herbes del Moli (HdM) for over two decades. They are our supplier for sourcing several ingredients.

Knowing each other for such a long time, we support HdM to integrate adults with disabilities into normal life and to give them the opportunity to hold a regular job. Now, a group of 11 works on an organic certified farm, cultivating and harvesting various delicious herbs to be used in our unique blends, such as lavender and oregano.

We are excited about these projects and look forward to share more updates with you along the way!
