Healthy Roasted Apple – Warming Winter Sweet Treat!

02. December 2019

Winter is well and truly upon us now! The nights are drawing in, winter coats are out and we’re all gearing up for the festive period. It’s the season of Christmas pudding, Christmas cake and yule logs and whilst delicious, too much of these can sometimes leave us feeling a little full. We have come up with a great sweet alternative to try for when you would like a break from your warming winter staples. This is a healthy roasted apple recipe served with almond butter filled with an enticing mixture of mixed nuts and raisins, however what makes this recipe stand out is our favourite ingredient: YOGI TEA® Immune Support! This is used to infuse the almond butter and adds spice and warmth to complement the maple syrup. It’s the perfect combination of indulgence and comfort which we all need this winter, with the added extra of being completely vegan!

Check out the method and ingredients below!

Immune Support roasted apple

Preparation time: 45 Minutes
Ingredients for 4 roasted apples

• 4 Bramley apples
• 50 g mixed nuts (z. B. almonds, walnuts, cashew nuts)
• 25 g raisins
• 2 tsp lemon juice

For the almond sauce
• 3 tbsp almond butter
• 100 ml almond milk
• 1 tsp corn-starch
• 2 tsp maple syrup
• 2 bags YOGI TEA® Immune Support

Cut into the apples on the top side and carefully hollow out. Chop the fruit pulp roughly with nuts, raisins, lemon juice. Fill the apples with nut & herb mixture and put into an ovenproof dish. Bake on the middle rack of the oven for 25-30 minutes.
Combine the almond butter with the almond milk and heat up along with the Immune Support teabags. Mix the corn-starch in 1 tsp cold water and add to the sauce. Bring to a simmer on a low heat for 1 minute, stir and round off with maple syrup.
Serve the roasted apples hot with almond sauce.
